Murphy's Law

Hi friends.  Usually, I say life has been so boring I have nothing to write about.  This time it is too many crazy things happening at once.  Kind of feels like a day when you lost your car keys, then you had a flat and finally got on the road and ran out of gas.  Yep, about that unbelievable.

Main happenstance - Memorial Day a truck hit my grown daughter while she was crossing the street.  Broke her wrist and she is wearing a cast.  Hurt her back and that will be a long slow process of starting with drugs and working up the chain of treatments until they find something that works (besides surgery).  Of course, the man didn't have insurance even though he drove a nice big truck.

The dog bit man is still calling us.

And my brain has been a fog for weeks now.  I hope it finds it way home!

  1. I'm so sorry, Barbara! Your poor daughter!

So dog bite guy hasn't filed a formal charge or anything? If he's just calling you, then he probably knows he doesn't have a leg to stand on (bitten or otherwise) and may just be hoping to scare or just pester you into giving him some money. I wonder if you could report him to the police for harassment?

  2. Oh Barbara. I can only imagine what it was like to find out your daughter was in an accident. It had to be so scary for you. I hope she has a quick and easy recovery.

    That dog man is persistent.

There is a lot of that brain fog going around! I hope your lifts soon.

  3. Oh my. I am so sorry to hear about your daughter I sure hope she is well soon.
That dog bite guy is bugging you not because he knows he is right and can get money but to try to wear you down so you will pay him. He legally has no right for money or he'd have called an attorney and not bothered you all.

  4. Sorry to hear about your daughter's accident -- what a sonovagun situation. I hope there is uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage available either from your state or under your daughter's own insurance.

  5. Sounds like, after this, you're now in for a run of GOOD luck.

  7. Oh, no. That all sounds like too much even if it had been spread out over a decade.

  8. I'm sorry your daughter got hit by the truck. That's awful. I'm glad she's ok, and hope she finds the medical help to put her in tip-top condition as soon as possible. How scary!

I think that Murphy's law has been in full force here as well. Things are breaking right and left. My car is in the shop. It has bad issues with the fluids disappearing which causes overheating, plus the brakes are going out. Dire, I know!

I fell onto the weed bin. Yes. Really. I am so bruised up, but very thankful I did no real harm. I have to wear long-sleeved shirts to cover my arms, they are so bad where they collided with the edge of the bin. I had a fat lip, but it's better now, and my knee....let's just say it's still colorful:).

I broke my sister's dish and ruined much of family Sunday dinner last week, due to not wanting to eat food with broken glass in it.

And so on! Sometimes, you just have to laugh.
