Books I've Read Lately Or Listened to in my case

In a strange city [CD sound recording]
by Laura Lippman.
Barbara Rosenblat, Narrator.

Unabridged. When a murder occurs during the annual visit of a cloaked individual to Edgar Allan Poe's grave, PI Tess Monaghan is drawn into unearthing a killer.

My opinion:  This book is so gentle it is almost a cozy mystery. What I particularly liked is how fact and fiction about Edgar Allan Poe is weaved through the story along with the history and day-to-day facts about living in Baltimore. One of a Series on Tess Monaghan.

Wanna get lucky? [CD sound recording] /
by Deborah Coonts.

Narrator: Renee Raudman

Unabridged. Everyone thought the young woman was just another Vegas victim when she plunged from a Las Vegas tour helicopter, landing in the Pirate's lagoon in front of the Treasure Island Hotel in the middle the 8:30 Pirate Show. But Lucky O'Toole, the wise-cracking Head of Customer Relations at the Babylon, the newest, most over-the-top mega-resort on the Strip, smelled a rat.

My opinion:  The characters are outrageous as only Las Vegas citizens could be.  Again a gentle novel, almost a cozy.  Fun story.  One of a Series.

Indulgence in death [CD sound recording]
by J. D. Robb.

Narrator: Susan Ericksen

Unabridged. Random hits, thrill kills, and murderers with a taste for the finer things in life are making NYPSD Lieutenant Eve Dallas angry. And an angry Eve can be just as efficient and dangerous a predator as the killer. As time runs out on another innocent victim's life, Eve's investigation will take her into the rarified circle that her husband, Roarke, travels into the perverted heart of madness.
My opinion.  This book is totally different from the first two.  A little futuristic. Not quite a thriller.  There was something I didn't love about the book but I liked it enough to advise you to decide for yourself.
