Feel Grand Challenge #1: Recover a Memory

The challenge:

Find a quiet room and sit down. Choose a place or a person you would like to remember. Go as far back in your memory as you're able—a favorite elementary school teacher, a family vacation, anything that evokes a feeling. Slowly and purposefully, let details come to you. Once you have a strong impression of an image, a noise, or some other small detail, focus on it. The full memory may reveal itself slowly, or you may have to truly concentrate—but stick with it. Given enough time and peaceful reflection, you’ll walk out with a complete recollection.

What you get out of it:

Not only does this exercise demonstrate the power of introspective recall, it can actually improve your outlook. Studies show that happy memories and nostalgia actually make us calmer, kinder, and more hopeful about the future. So sit back and start reminiscing!
