Doom and Gloom

Hurricane Update.  I have really been thinking positive and willing this bad boy to change course but apparently, I don't have enough deposits in the Good Will Bank to make a withdrawal.  LOL.

I always take bad weather seriously but don't panic.  This time I am not prepared like I usually am.  I feel like I might as well be in New Orleans knowing the levy is going to break.  I don't think there is any way this hurricane will not be devastating.  My kids have always poo-pooed my preparations for years but they are going to learn from this one.  They will learn from this one just as I did with Hurricane Carla in 1961.  I was 11 then but it taught me to take these things seriously.

We had so many evacuees in town after Hurricane Katrina that I worry about my medicine.  I am low on insulin but live close enough to a drug store that I can walk over if I need to - or should I say swim over.

Hahaha.  I just got an email requesting a phone interview on Monday for a position I applied for.  Guess I'm not the only one willing this bad boy to go another way!!

Well, I don't want to sound all doom and gloom but I've learned not to leave things unsaid.  I follow only a small number of blogs these days and my life has just been too boring to share but each one of you bring something positive into my life.  I have enjoyed reading your blogs and hearing about your life and family and looking at your pictures.

I'll continue to send updates as long as we have power and I say that knowing how awful, hot and muggy it will be when it goes out.

I'll close with a picture of the Grand Girls for they are a ray of hope for all that is good.

  1. Barbara, I've been thinking of you all day! If positive thoughts sent your way could help, this hurricane would surely miss you.

  2. I hope that you will be okay. I have been thinking of you as I watch the reports of this bad boy's progress.
